Living Well Counselling Services Inc. is designed to be a safe place where you can go for non-judgmental caring support. Two of us are mothers, one with 4 children and one with 5, so we understand how difficult the postpartum experience can be. Additionally we all as therapists have a great deal of experience helping clients find hope to overcome depression, while also specializing in other areas including anxiety, parenting concerns, marriage counselling, addictions, family of origin issues and dealing with past trauma and so forth. For a more extensive list, you can look at our profiles at http://livingwellcounselling.ca/our-therapists. 30% of why people get better is due to the fit between therapist and client, therefore we offer a free 20 minute consult via phone or in person so that you can get to know your potential therapist better. Additionally if finances are of concern, we do have some therapists that are covered by benefits, as well as sliding scale. For clients that have difficulty finding child care, we can offer Skype or telephone counselling.
Petra Spletzer, PhD started Numina Counselling in 2002 and has dedicated her career to working with adults and children. Her area of specialty is prenatal and postpartum depression and anxiety. Petra primarily works with individual women during the prenatal or postpartum period, but has also run a Prenatal Depression Group in collaboration with Families Matter. Her main model of therapy is Emotion-Focused Therapy, but she also uses Cognitive Behavioral techniques. Petra helps clients examine underlying emotions which promotes understanding of their needs and movement towards healing. The Numina Counselling office is currently located in the Nielsen Homeopathic and Integrative Clinic, which provides clients additional services such as massage therapy, acupuncture, and homeopathy.
